There are many resources available on the web that are maintained by libraries, museums and centres of research, as well as publishers. This page lists sites that are especially useful in this area. Additional sections include pointers to FAQ files, as well as web indexes that make the task of searching the ever-growing web that much easier. - AcqWeb - a web gathering place for those interested in acquisitions (of books) and collection development.
- BUBL Information Service - a national service for the UK higher education community, with a catalogue of classified Internet resources, abstracts of LIS journals, LIS news, OPACs etc..
- English/Spanish Language Resources for Library & Information Science Professionals
- Finding Resources in Library and Information Science - an extensive guide by Traugott Koch of the Lund University Library Sweden.
- Free Pint - Free Pint is a free email newsletter with tips on searching and Web site reviews, published twice a month. The Free Pint site also encompasses a portal for the LIS sector, a discussion forum and details of news and events.

- HERO - a UK 'bulletin board', offering information on UK, European and international services, with a section on library and information resources.

- Internet Resources is a FREE WWW newsletter produced by Heriot-Watt University Library. It informs about new and recent Internet resources of interest to the higher education community.
- The Journal of Library Services for Distance Education
- A peer-reviewed e-journal, international in scope, publishing refereed articles focusing on the isues and challenges of providing research/information services to students enrolled in formal post-secondary distance education.
- LIBRES: Library and Information Science Research Electronic Journal
- LIBRES is an international, refereed, electronic journal devoted to new research in Library and Information Science.

- The Public-Access Computer Systems Review
- The Public-Access Computer Systems Review (PACS Review) is an electronic journal about end-user computer systems in libraries. The journal publishes papers on topics such as campus-wide information systems, CD-ROM LANs, digital libraries, document delivery systems, electronic publishing, expert systems, hypermedia and multimedia systems, locally mounted databases, network-based information resources and tools, and online catalogues.
